Polyester resin

The polyester resin is in the form of a syrupy liquid which comprises polyester chains and styrene.

The unsaturated resin (liquid) polymerizes to become solid (becomes saturated) during lamination.

For polymerization, the resin must be mixed with a catalyst (hardener).

We offer pre-accelerated polyester resin with low emission of styrene, optimal quality for the waterproofing of a basin.

It is necessary to count 1.2 to 1.4 kg of resin to impregnate correctly 1 m² of glass fabrics 450 g / m2.

And with 300 g / m2 glass mat, count 0.8 to 1.2 kg resin per m2.

Provide two layers of glass mat and thus two layers of resin for the realization of a laminate of basin.

To achieve a polyester seal, the ideal temperature is between 14 ° and 20 °. Below 14 °, the polymerization takes place slowly. Above 22 °, working time is significantly reduced but possible: in all cases, avoid applying resin in full sun!
